Is it bad to take birth control before you are supposed to?

I thought I was getting my period (i had light spotting) so i took the first pill of the first pack. My period DID NOT start and i was just wondering now did i screw something up? Is it bad to take the pill before your period starts?

i started before i got my period. My doctor told me to, they said i could start it any time i wanted OR i could wait for my period, so I just started it b4 i got it. I don't think it really matters, you just have to keep taking it now that you started that pack.
its fine! taking the first pill can stop your period from coming so that is probably what happened! this is totally normal, dont worry about it. next time your period might be a little heavier or you could have some bleeding in the middle of the month, but after a few months it will be normal. dont worry!
It will only delay the regularness of your cycle....no big deal, just have to wait a while.
