Upon discovering I had ovarian cysts that made my menstrual cramps very severe, my gyno suggested I go on birth control. I have been taking it for about three months and it has made my complexion a lot better but my cramps are just as bad as they were before, possibly a little better. I have been told that there are many risks that come with taking the pill so if it's not helping my cramps should I go off?Should I continue taking birth control if it doesn't help my cramps?
I would think it'll make your cramps worse if you come off, but that's just my educated guess. Id' try calling you GYN, maybe she/he would suggest a different birth control, or even an anti-inflammatory medication that you can take during your periods.
Good luck.Should I continue taking birth control if it doesn't help my cramps?
i have the same problem. when i get my periods the pain use to be soo bad. it was horrible. i even took pain killers cuz it was so painful. so my doctor put me on birth control. just recently today i changed birth controls. i wouldnt stop taking the birth control unless u consult ur doctor first. the birth control i was using before up until today was called lutera. my periods were never painful from that day on. if u are still having pain either u have to wait a while longer. till it kicks in. or u need to switch to a bc that will work.
