I need to replace it and I can't find where it is under the hood. 1986 Ford Ranger 4x4 4cyclinder.Ignition control module where is it on a 1986 Ford Ranger pickup?
you should change the stator at the same time :(Ignition control module where is it on a 1986 Ford Ranger pickup?
distributor
4 cylinder is attached behind the alternator on the upper intake manifold
It will be on the drivers side fire wall.
The TFI module is attached to the side of the distributor.
If it is a TFI (thick film ignition) module your talking about it is mounted right on the base of the distributor. And be careful when you remove it so you don,t pull tear up the stator that the module plugs into. If you do you will have to remove the distributor and replace that also.
check on your distributor its either square or rectangle looking thing.
It is attached to the distributor body, some require a special tool to remove. They are cheap and most auto parts stores have them ,they are a slim 7/32 nut driver.
