sprucepa.... !
If pills are taken every day at the same time, and each pack is started on time, oral contraceptives are 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. On average, oral contraceptives are 93-97% effective because women often miss pills or do not start a new pack on time. Contact your healthcare provider if you are experiencing any pregnancy symptoms.

It tells you on the pack of birth control how long it takes. It depends on the kind of pills she's on. It takes anywhere from 7 days to 30 days to become effective. If you tell her to read the pamphlet that comes with the pack it will tell you how long to wait to have unprotected sex.
it can take up to 3 months. but being her 3rd week that means her period is probably coming in the next week or two, if it doesnt, have her take a test. if its negative wait 2 more weeks, take another test
I always tell patients to NOT have unprotected sex for at least one full pack of pills - this is the recommendation by most offices.
Most birth control conceptions advise to wait 2 weeks before having unprotected sex.
YAZ. takes 7 days to kick in. It says to use protection for those 7 days in the book it came with.
