Is it wise to turn over complete control of our government to the Democrats ?

Isn't it risky to remove the checks and balances, and give all the power of government to a bunch of liberal Democrats - including Congress - knowing they will give Obama anything he asks for ?





Seems like an imbalance of power to me.Is it wise to turn over complete control of our government to the Democrats ?

The Republican Party was founded as the anti-slavery Party and fought to free blacks from slavery.


The Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln who signed the emancipation proclamation that resulted in the Juneteenth celebrations that occur in black communities today?


The Republican Party passed the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments to the U. S. Constitution granting blacks freedom, citizenship, and the right to vote?


The Republican Party passed the Civil Rights Acts of 1866 and 1875 granting blacks protection from the Black Codes and prohibiting racial discrimination in public accommodations, and was the Party of most blacks prior to the 1960’s, including Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Booker T. Washington, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.


President Dwight Eisenhower of The Republican Party sent U.S. troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools, established the Civil Rights Commission in 1958, and appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court which resulted in the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision ending school segregation


The Republican Party, by the greatest percentage, passed the1957 Civil Rights Act and the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960’s.


President Richard Nixon of The Republican Party instituted the first Affirmative Action program in 1969 with the Philadelphia Plan that established goals and timetables.


The Republican Party of President George W. Bush who supports the U.S. Supreme Court’s University of Michigan Affirmative Action decision, and is spending over $200 billion to fight AIDS in Africa and on programs to help black Americans prosper, including school vouchers, the faith-based initiative, home ownership, and small business ownership


The Democratic Party fought to keep blacks in slavery and was the Party of the Ku Klux Klan.


The Democratic Party from 1870 to 1930 used fraud, whippings, lynching, murder, intimidation, and mutilation to get the black vote, and passed the Black Codes and Jim Crow laws which legalized racial discrimination and denied blacks their rights as citizens.


The Democratic Party of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and President Harry Truman rejected anti-lynching laws and efforts to establish a permanent Civil Rights Commission.


The Democratic Party of President John F. Kennedy who voted against the 1957 Civil Rights law as a Senator, then opposed the 1963 March on Washington by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. after becoming president, and later had the FBI (supervised by his brother, Attorney General Robert Kennedy) investigate Dr. King on suspicion of being a communist.


The Democratic Party of current Senator Robert Byrd who was a member of the Ku Klux Klan, Senator Fritz Hollings who hoisted the Confederate flag over the state capitol in South Carolina when he was the governor, and Senator Ted Kennedy who recently insulted black judicial nominees by calling them “Neanderthals” while blocking their appointments.


The Democratic Party of President Bill Clinton failed to fight the terrorists after the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, sent troops to war in Bosnia and Kosovo without Congressional approval, vetoed the Welfare Reform law twice before signing it, and refused to comply with a court order to have shipping companies develop an Affirmative Action Plan.


The Democratic Party of Vice President Al Gore whose father voted against the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960’s, and who lost the 2000 election as confirmed by a second recount of Florida votes by the “Miami Herald” and a consortium of major news organizations and the ruling by the U.S. Civil Rights Commission that blacks were not denied the right to vote.


The Democratic Party is against the faith-based initiative, against school vouchers, against school prayers, and takes the black vote for granted without ever acknowledging their racist past or apologizing for trying to expand slavery, lynching blacks and passing the Black Codes and Jim Crow laws that caused great harm to blacks.Is it wise to turn over complete control of our government to the Democrats ?
We did turn over complete control of our government to the Democrats not all that long ago. Anyone else remember what happened? Rationing of gas and heating fuel, grocery shortages, highest unemployment, highest interest rates and highest inflation rate since the Great Depression, the ';misery index,'; etc. In other words, the worst conditions most Americans alive today have ever faced.


Risky to give all the power of government to a bunch of liberal Democrats again?


INSANE is more like it.


And if they do the same as they did back then (and they say they will) they WILL still blame the Republicans . . . again, and TV news will help them do it . . again.


If you're under the impression you have ever seen ';complete Republican control'; you need to learn how the Federal government works. If you're age isn't pushing 3-digits, it hasn't happened in your lifetime.
The democrats became the majority since the last election in 2006 and if you noticed, things went downhill from there. Ever since the democrats became the majority in congress, gas prices shot up, housing market became a bubble that just popped, they have the lowest approval rating of any congress in history and they want a liberal democrat in charge?





Can you say the ';Carter years';? Yes, let's raise taxes and unemployment rates and send jobs overseas even faster while giving companies incentives to do so, they can do all this without the president's approval.



Considering the shite the Republicans have thrust upon us with a Repub Congress, Presidency and SCOTUS for the past 8 years, I say YEAH!





What is this ';checks and balances'; you speak about? The Congress hasn't provided ANY checks on executive power since 2001.





The Repubs have sold our nation to China. The Pres is a war criminal. I think we need someone new. And since the 2-party system has a stranglehold on our politics, the only other alternative is the Dems.





So yeah, I think we should elect Dems to the Congress, and the Presidency.





And I'm not a Dem either.
It would be interesting to see the economy come to a grinding halt, once Obama is in office and has implimented the biggest tax hike in this countries history - although I wouldn't want to be living here when that happens.





It's easy to see now - how this once great country will slowly end.





Obama knows that raising the Captial Gains tax to 28% will produce less gov revenue, yet he says that he will do this because it will be fair this way.





Hell, let's stop messing around and just make this a communist country and all will be fair for everyone!

I guess we would have more of what we have had the last two years. Spend, spend, spend, no accountability, economy sinking, and the only ones making money will be the elected officials. Add to that, a country that has disarmed, dependant on mid east oil, Iran with nuclear weapons, Russia turning back into the soviet union, and Osama let loose to terrorize the world. Not a pretty picture.
Yes, let them have it. It is not the first time it has happened. Look what the Republicans did for the first 6 years of the Bush Administration. They spent like drunk sailors in a whore house on nickle night. I am all for McCain, but if the Dems win, support them and lets get moving forward instead of pointing fingers and calling names. Why do you think we are having so many troubles this election season? Because we did such a wonderful job of being fiscally conservative? People think we are out of touch. Now let's get the sleeves rolled up and get to work showing what this party is about. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY!

It was very unwise to turn over everything to the Government. Now they think they can do anything they want. It really doesn't matter who you vote for, the pattern has been cut and we no longer fit.

It would be the downfall of America. The ramifications will be so severe that we will be too weak as a nation by 2012 to rebound from it. We will be but a shell of the once great nation we inherited.






Look at what Republicans have done - Democrats couldn't do any worse then those greedy failures.

It took 6 years of complete Republican control to get us into this mess, I'm thinking it will take at least 6 years of complete Democratic control to get us out of it.
