I'm looking into going on the pill and I've heard that this is a side effect some can experience. My thought is that if this is the case, why even go on the pill??? Any thoughts are appreciated! Is it common for a birth control pill to actually lower someone's libido?
This is not uncommon. More info at: http://blogs.webmd.com/sexual-health-sex鈥?/a>Is it common for a birth control pill to actually lower someone's libido?
I heard that all type of birthcontrol pills, and the nuva ring even can lower the libido. I think that's true, because most of the time im not even interested in sex, i was more interested when i was on the pill, now i'm on the nuva ring and i can tell the difference.
I think they do lower the libido. I know that my libido changes when I am on the pill. You go on the pill because you do not want to get pregnant. Of course there is a slim chance that you can get pregnant on the pill. I feel so much better not taking anything but I do not want to get pregnant right now so I do. I guess we could use condoms but my hubby and I both agree that we got married so we wouldn't have to use those things.
Good question and yes it is true, even worse, the pill can kill a woman's libido permanently!!
Besides that, there are numerous other dangerous side effects to the pill (or any other form of synthetic hormones).
If women take the pill to have sex without worrying of getting pregnant, then it is indeed useless if you lose your sexdrive from it. It is only effective in not getting pregnant, but there are other methods that are effective, without messing with your libido and health, such as natural birth control of course.
