I take ortho-tri-cyclin low. There are 3 different colors I think. Will they still work if I take them in the wrong order? Is it bad to take birth control pills in the wrong order?
From an OB RN: In your case, yes it will mess up your cycle. The purpose of a tri-cyclic birth control pill is to give a higher dose the 1st week, a medium dose the 2nd week %26amp; a smaller dose the 3rd week, %26amp; the last week is not a med, just placebo pills to remind you when to begin a new pack These dose changes are to taper you off so that you are less likely to have withdrawl-like symptoms such as headaches. So take them in order. Is it bad to take birth control pills in the wrong order?
No. If they did, they wouldn't be different colors!
Take them once a day at the same time each day.
Read the pamphlet that came with your pack, or talk to the pharmacist or doctor or google your pill online if you miss or take the pills in the wrong order.
You NEED to take them in order.
You will mess up your system. Each set of pills conatins different amounts of hormones. You should be taking the gray first, then the light blue, dark blue and then the white (sugar pill) if you have them.
