Is it possible to replace the lower control arm bushing on a 1997 Ford Taurus?

I have been told that I need to replace the entire control arm from the dealer. Yet, I find the bushings being sold at autoparts stores.

Are they just difficult to replace? Is it possible to replace the lower control arm bushing on a 1997 Ford Taurus?
yes you can replace them, but you need a vice or a press to put them in with ,also, the cost sometimes equals out to be about what the whole arm cost, that's why most people just replace the whole thing, its faster, and easier, but if there's no damage to the control arm,and all you need is bushings, then you can just replace them,by the time your done though you may wish you had bought the whole lower arm, good luck on it.Is it possible to replace the lower control arm bushing on a 1997 Ford Taurus?
jack the car up, remove the bushing, insert 1998 taurus, lower jack.
Ford probably does not sell a replacement bushing but remember -- the one in your control arm had to come from SOMEWHERE. Buy it, put it in, dude.
Yes it's very possible to replace the Lower control arm bushing on your vehicle. The trick to it is do you have the spring compressor, tools and place to take it apart at?

You can find the parts at the store, but that pretty much means that you are the provider of the work (or do-it-yourself). You can find 4 wheel alignment shops to do it for a wee-bit cheaper than the dealership.
